CAERNARFON Town manager Sean Eardley praised his side’s effort as they finally clinched the Huws Gray Alliance title.

The Canaries secured the crown with a 5-0 win over basement dwellers Llandudno Junction, and the success caps off a memorable fortnight for everyone associated with the club after achieving promotion and their FAW Domestic Licence.

They close out what has been a memorable campaign on Friday, April 27 when the Cofis visit Huws Gray Cup finalists Gresford Athletic.

Eardley, said: “To see the sea of yellow and green behind the goal was absolutely unbelievable. Our success has come in threes and I am just made up for the boys.

“They have put in a colossal effort in a competitive league, and we knew the challenge that lay ahead last summer and they have all risen to it.

“There has been adversity which they have dealt with, and now we have secured the title we can now look at one or two things against Gresford and we are also looking at the 100-point mark.

“When we grace the turf next year I expect to leave some boys out and it will be difficult. I am a young manager who is learning day-by-day and you have to get a stiff upper lip at times. What I am is up for the challenge and there is a plan already in place in terms of giving us the right platform to build next season.”

Cofis’ talisman Darren Thomas netted twice in the first half to give the away side a comfortable cushion at the break, and striker Jamie Breese added a third on 47 minutes to all-but seal the victory.

This was swiftly followed by another courtesy of tireless midfielder Gareth Evans on 50 minutes, and the visitors rounded off the scoring against a youthful and spirited Junction side on 59 through Chris Williams.
