BANGOR City boss Kevin Nicholson has issued a rallying cry as his side look to secure European qualification.

The talented young manager issued a statement to the club’s supporters on Thursday, March 22, and they will look to get back to winning ways this weekend in their trip to Cardiff Met.

Nicholson, said: “We are in contention for a successful finish to the season. With five league games to go and a Welsh Cup semi-final to look forward to, we have a new chapter ahead of us and there is all to play for.

“The defeat in our last game was a small setback that the team will learn and bounce back from. We quickly drew a line under that game and moved on.

“There have been many improvements and little victories along the way this season. We have proven we can take points from every team within the top six when we produce performances that match our capabilities, individually and collectively. We should approach this new chapter with belief and attack each game with a positive mindset.

“We will embrace that challenge as a group, one game at a time - starting on Sunday.”

The City boss also called on supporters to play their part ahead of what is set to be a very tight race for second spot in the JD Welsh Premier League standings.

“The players and everyone involved will be giving everything they have got for the club and the fans,” added Nicholson.

“The role they play is vitally important and very much appreciated. We want their support and for them to keep getting right behind the players in their numbers and continue to support the team in the best form - home and away.

“We can show what Bangor City are all about in the weeks ahead - on and off the pitch. This club and everyone connected with it deserve to be part of another European adventure next season.”
