VALLEY Athletic fought their way to the top of the Kon-X Anglesey League table on Saturday afternoon with a 5-3 win over Kevin Jones' Arriva Bangor side.

In an entertaining encounter, winger Konner Druce put the home side 1-0 up before Matty Williams equalised for the visitors.

Ryan Hall then fired Valley back in front before Arriva's Liam Roberts equalled the scoring once more.

There was time for one more goal before half time though as Valley captain Jordie Lees headed the ball into the far corner to give them a 3-2 lead at the break.

The second half turned out to be just as thrilling as the first. Druce struck again to make it 4-2 before Andy Clarke added Arriva's third to set up a tense finale.

The final and most decisive goal of the game however came when the energetic Hall grabbed his brace eight minutes from time.

Elsewhere in the league, Llandegfan fell to a 5-1 loss at home to Bodorgan. Despite signs of major improvement within Jordan Love's side and new players gelling well, it was the visitors who came out on top.

Bodorgan forward Danny Connolly scored a fine hat-trick and strike partner Luke Allaway grabbed a brace which included a penalty. Winger Neil Gillard replied for Llandegfan.

Bryngwran Bulls' match with Llangoed & District Reserves was postponed, but in the Lucas Oil Cup, Mynydd Tigers came away with a 6-1 win over Pentraeth Reserves.

The home side had six different names on the scoresheet with Mark Hughes, Tomos Eames, Aaron Roberts, Thomas Griffiths, Alex Griffiths and Kieran Bullock all netting. John Morton scored the goal for Justin Gallagher's Reserves side.
