CAERNARFON came from a goal down to thrash Nefyn United 5-1 at the Oval.
Nefyn started brightly, Llyr ap Gruffudd gave the visitors the lead on 15 minutes, but the celebrations would not last long.
The Canaries equalised through their recent signing from Porthmadog Jamie McDaid (pictured) five minutes later, and former Town keeper Ian Aickman made two fine saves, while Gareth Roberts hit the bar with a deft chip.
United were still game, however, and Town keeper Neil Perkins pulled off a smart save from Arwel Evans’ 25 yard thunderbolt.
Steve Smith’s side kicked up a gear, and Gareth Roberts made it 2-1 from close range on 55 minutes, after a pinpoint cross from Welsh Schoolboys player Alex Jones.
Roberts’ goal seemed to break United’s spirit, and Town scored three further goals from Llion Whitmore and a brace from Jamie Whitmore.
The win puts Town level on 44 points with leaders Holywell Town, although the north east Walians have two games in hand.
