Bala 10pts Caernarfon 18pts
Caernarfon recorded back-to-back wins after a stubborn defensive display on a heavy surface at Bala.

Caernarfon started out the better side and their early pressure paid off when Kelvin Morris slotted his first penalty through the posts on four minutes.

The visitors extended their lead shortly after winger Carnedd Williams benefitted from Rhys Evans' good work at the scrum to touch down for the first try of the afternoon.

But Bala began to gain some forward momentum and fly-half Rhydain Jones dispatched a drop-goal from 20 metres.

Encouraged by their first points, Bala enjoyed possession and a driving maul from a line-out resulted in Gethin Williams grounding the ball beyond the try line with Jones on hand to convert.

The parity was short lived though, as Morris added another three points after Bala were penalised for not releasing and just before half time the home side were reduced to 14 men as their number eight was sin-binned for a late challenge on Dylan Gwyn.

This would prove costly and after the interval the Cofis pressed ahead with their man advantage as Trystan Gwilym darted through the host's defence and beyond the tryline to re-establish his side's lead.

But with Bala back to their full compliment they regrouped and exerted pressure on the Caernarfon line.

The home side looked threatening but, could not make it count as they were unable to convert two reasonably kickable penalties and the Cofis' well-marshalled defence stayed solid as they saw out a hard-fought victory.

Bethesda 31pts Mold 0pts
Bethesda played host to Mold and began in earnest as they tried to redress their recent poor record against their visitors.

And with the home side failing to convert the early chances that came their way, Mold threatened through counter attacks of their own.

But Pesda quickly established a commanding lead thanks to tries from Arwyn Griffiths and Huw Williams midway through the first half.

And with the home side looking dangerous in possession, it came as no surprise when Lee Sherlock got his name on the scoresheet after a trademark run with Mathew Parry adding the extras.

The game continued in the same vein after the break and on 56 minutes Mold conceded a penalty try before replacement flanker Iwan Williams went over for a try of his own with Parry converting both scores.

In-form Bethesda will be hoping for a repeat performance when they host Pwllheli at Dol Dafydd next week.
