BANGOR suffered a second was out in a row as rain stopped play during their innings.

The home side put Connah’s Quay into bat, and 52 from Martin Burger was the highlight of the innings as the visitors were all out or 173.

Shane Mott and Iwan Roberts impressed in the Bangor attack with three wickets apiece.

The surprise of the day’s play came when Bangor opener Duncan Midgley went for a duck.

Shane Mott scored was on 11 when the heavens opened.

Next up for Bangor is a home encounter with Mold on Saturday (1pm).

Anglesey Aluminium 188

Match abandoned


THE poor weekend weather also took its toll on Anglesey Aluminium, as this Division Three clash was called off.

Chris Newey notched up 53 and Steve Williams score 37 as the home side reached 188 all out at Penrhos Farm on Saturday, before rain stopped play after the interval.

Anglesey Aluminium will face Denbigh on Saturday (1.30pm).


Menai Bridge 149

Menai Bridge win by 22 runs


NATHAN Shearer posted an impressive 86 as Menai Bridge got the win against their visitors from North East Wales.

Danny Creek also helped the home side were all out for 149.

Ashley Wood was the star of the Menai Bridge attack with six for 24, with two wickets each or Robbie Jones and Carl Thomas.

The visitors posted 127 all out.

Menai bridge will travel to Brymbo on Saturday (1.30pm).

Bodedern 187
St Asaph 170
Bodedern win by 17 runs


GARETH Thomas put in good shifts at the crease as Bodedern edged past St Asaph.

Thomas scored 50 and Gadsby posted 42 before Bodedern were all out 187.

Kieran Lucas was the best of the bunch for St Asaph with 62, while Rob Hooper notched up 40 for the visitors.

However, James Jones had a good day in attack with four wickets for 31, to help limit St Asaph to 170 for seven.

Bodedern will welcome Shotton to Presaddfed on Saturday (1.30pm).

Bethesda v Bangor 2nd 11

OPENER Qasim Ijaz was on 20 and Faisal Kahn posted 29 when poor weather stopped play at Bethesda Cricket Club.

Pesda will hope for better conditions at Chirk on Saturday (1.30pm), while Bangor Seconds will travel to Gresford.

DANNY Nicholson was the highest scorer for Bodedern seconds with 52, and Rhys Johnson notched up 46, as the home side reached 175 for eight.

Bryn Hughes and Carwyn thomas were on eight and 11 not out respectively when the match was abandoned.


Menai Bridge 2nd 11 149
Gresford 153


FINE performances from Alex and Chris Ellwood gave Gresford the win against Menai Bridge Seconds.

Gresford put Menai Bridge into bat, and 53 from Paul Jones helped the home side to 149 for nine.

Aled Hughes took 1 wicket for 17 to give the Menai attack a decent start.

However, Alex notched up 69 and Chris posted 65 to help Gresford to a winning score of 153 for one.

Llandudno won by four wickets


OPENER Dale Davies and Rhisiart Jones got 12 runs each as Pesda reached a disappointing 69 all out.

Davies also got six wickets against the home side, but could not stop the home side surpassing Bethesda’s target.
