THE CONSTRUCTION of a £10.3m extra care housing scheme on Anglesey is progressing well ahead of its expected opening in the summer of 2018.

Hafan Cefni, based in the Town of Llangefni is expected to open a show apartment for viewings in February 2018, ahead of its completion set for a few months later.

The extra care scheme is a development by T? Glas Housing Society, part of the Pennaf Housing Group, in partnership with the Isle of Anglesey County Council.

Once finished, the building will consist of 63 extra care high quality one and two bedroom apartments, of which 15 are specifically designed and adapted for older people with memory loss or living with dementia.

Clwyd Alyn Housing Association will provide the housing management and ancillary services on-site as the managing agent for T? Glas Housing Society, whilst the County Council will commission the provision of 24 hour on-site care for the tenants with an assessed need.
