A HUMAN RESOURCES consultant who is originally from Anglesey recently scooped a top prize at the Wales HR Awards.

Nia Bennett (Thomas) grew up in Llanfairpwll and commenced her HR career with Anglesey Council and Bangor University, before moving to Cardiff., where she is now based.

During the awards ceremony, Nia was awarded the prestigious Independent Consultant of the Year Award for her role as director of bilingual HR consultancy at EffectusHR.

Hosted by the BBC’s Sian Lloyd, the Awards recognise the best HR professionals at all levels, from apprentices to directors, and organisations as a whole across various industry sectors in Wales.

It aims to showcase the commitment, hard work and achievements of individuals and teams within the HR profession over the last 12 months.

After being successful at the ceremony, Nia said: "When I first formed EffectusHR it was my ambition to provide highly valuable advice that would boost the performance of clients who wanted to get the best out of their people.

“Little over a year later, I have been privileged and delighted to have had that achievement acknowledged by the industry and in the presence of so many peers that I respect.”
