THE 'DIGITAL Gwynedd' scheme which helps several local people and businesses improve their internet skills, has been shortlisted for a national third sector award in Wales.
The scheme, which is delivered by Citizens Online in partnership with Gwynedd Council, has made the shortlist in the Digital Inclusion category of the Third Sector Awards Cymru event.
The winners of each category will be announced on February 8.
The 'Digital Gwynedd' sessions are free and aim to help better an individual's I.T. skills, as well as motivate and support others in the community with technology.
They have recruited 140 members since January 2016.
Councillor Craig ab Iago said: “Digital Gwynedd is an important scheme that offers practical help for residents from all over the county.
"As a Council, our aim is to ensure that everyone in Gwynedd has a real opportunity to benefit from this scheme and to make the most of what the latest technology has to offer.
“Therefore, it’s fantastic to see Digital Gwynedd being recognised in these national awards, by being shortlisted."
Regular drop-in sessions are held at various locations around the county, including:
Caernarfon Library: Monday, 10am-12pm
Mynydd Llandegai Hall: Tuesday, 10am-12pm
Canolfan Ffordd Abaty Bangor: Tuesday, 1.30pm-3.30pm
