POLICE recovered a quantity of class A controlled drugs, cash, mobile phones and a knuckleduster in a drugs raid in Bangor.

Officers executed a Misuse of Drugs Act search warrant at Llys Bedwar on Friday morning.

A 46-year-old local female was also arrested for the same offence and for being wanted on warrant.

Later on Friday afternoon, two men from the Merseyside area aged 18 and 25 were also detained by police officers on Beach Road, Bangor under police stop and search powers.

Both have been arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences.

A police spokesman said: "At this stage police are keeping an open mind as to both incidents being connected."

PC Liam Parkes at Bangor Police Station said: "Our commitment to rid our communities of those who possess and supply controlled drugs is our priority in line with ‘Operation Scorpion’ is directly targeting serious and organised crime.

"Today’s action under Operation Rattle is a continuation of that process and we are determined to keep our communities safe.

"We can’t tackle this problem alone and key to all our work, and that of our partners, is intelligence and I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the community sharing their concerns with us."
