POLICE are appealing for dash-cam or CCTV footage to help trace an offender who was pursued by the occupier during a residential burglary in Caernarfon.

North Wales Police are also appealing for any witnesses who may have seen any suspicious behaviour or activity after the incident on Hendre Street, on Friday.

Investigating Officer PC Anna Jolley at Caernarfon Police Station said: "At about 4.15am, on Friday, April 6, a householder disturbed a burglar in the hallway of his property.

"It resulted in the intruder immediately fleeing empty handed in the general direction of Segontium Road South, before heading down an alleyway which leads to Beulah Square, with the householder in pursuit."

The offender is described as a white male about 6ft tall, of medium build wearing a black jacket with writing on the back – possibly ‘Chang’ – black trousers, and a black woolly hat.

The offender was lost in the South Road area, close to the Texaco garage, before the householder returned to discover two items outside his front door.

The items - a white iPad Pro in a black leather case and a large glass jar containing coins - were left by the offender and may have been stolen property from elsewhere.

PC Jolley said: "We are eager to hear from anyone who either lives in the area or was in the area at the time and has any CCTV or dash-cam footage which may contain images of the offender.

"I’d also like to hear from anyone who saw any suspicious behaviour or activity or indeed has any information about this offence. Clearly we are also interested in anyone who recognises the Ipad and glass jar and I’d ask they contact us immediately."
