GWYNEDD Council is seeking the public's views on its provision of disability sports across the county.

The aim is to consider how disabled people take part in sports or physical activities and to identify any barriers that they may face.

The Council is working closely with Disability Sports Wales to ensure that there are plenty of opportunities for disabled people.

There are currently over 600 disabled users registered with sports clubs in Gwynedd.

Councillor Craig ab Iago, Gwynedd Council Cabinet member for Leisure, said: “As a Council we want to make sure that we offer appropriate physical activities for disabled people.

"Participating in sport gives special opportunities to develop skills, gain confidence as well as keeping healthy.

“As a Council we need to be aware of any obstacles and ensure that access to sport is available to everyone who wishes to participate.

“By undertaking a consultation into the provision of disability sports, we can ensure that we plan provisions that are suitable for the future."

The consultation is open until February 23.
