THEY say there is no such thing as a free lunch – but there is in Bangor for two weeks!

A brand new over-50s lunch club has been launched in Hirael and will be held every Wednesday during school term – at 12.45pm at Hirael School, on Orme Road.

For the first two weeks, the Royal Voluntary Service club is offering the lunch on a first-come, first-served basis.

After the two weeks, the cost for a three-course meal and a cuppa will be £5 per person. Transport will be available for those who need to be collected.

Stuart Pritchard, headteacher of Ysgol Hirael said: “We are delighted to part of this community project and look forward to working alongside the Royal Voluntary Service to offer the lunch club. "

The RVS offers a number of community services available in Gwynedd and Ynys Mon.

The lunch club is in partnership with Undeb, Bangor University Student’s Union.
