THERE is an emergency road closure following an accident on the A5025 between Llanfaethlu and Llanfachraeth.

The closure on Thursday, estimated from 12pm to 3pm, will allow a crane to recover a tanker which crashed into a field.

Diversions in place are (north) when travelling towards Cemaes on the A5025 take a left turn north of Llanfachraeth through Llanfwrog and continue to Llanfaethlu. Turn right at the junction near Maes Maethlu, Llanfaethlu towards the A5025, where the diversion ends.

And (south), when travelling towards Valley on the A5025, motorised are advised to turn right into Llanfaethlu Village, follow the diversion turn left near Maes Maethlu, Llanfaethlu and continue through Llanfwrog to the A5025, to the end of the diversion.

Diversions will direct traffic on to small rural roads. All large vehicles will be stacked on the A5025 for the duration of the road closure.

The Isle of Anglesey County County says in its twitter feed: "We hope that the tanker will be moved at around 12.30pm and advises motorists to avoid the area." It also apologised for any inconvenience caused.
