AN international touring company, which pioneers 'sign dance' theatre, is bringing its new show to Anglesey and Gwynedd.

SignDance Collective’s multi-language, interactive show, The Turtle Trials, was initially inspired by the Dr Suess’ poem, Yertle The Turtle, and offers an opportunity for young people to learn about turtles and the environment through sign language, dance, music, scent and storytelling.

It is a fun show aimed at five to 10-year-olds, performed in English, Welsh, Spanish and in sign language.

The artistic director of the SignDance Collective is the renowned Welsh deaf actor, David Bower, who starred in Four Weddings and a Funeral.

He said: “We are looking forward to welcoming children and their families to The Turtle Trials.

“The shows are guaranteed to be fun and a chance to explore the stories of turtles and conservation.”

Supported by Arts Council of Wales, the local dates for the shows are: Anglesey Sea Zoo, public performances, June 9 and 10, from 11.30am-2.30pm; Neuadd Ogwen, Bethesda, public performances, June 16 and 17 at 2pm; Ucheldre Centre, Holyhead, school group performances, July 12 and 13 at 10am and 1pm.

The public performances are on July 14 at 2pm and 3.30pm.
