ARE you interested in Gwynedd’s countryside, and enjoy the county’s network of footpaths and open spaces?

If so, you may want to become a member of the Arfon-Dwyfor Local Access Forum.

The forum advises the Gwynedd Council, Natural Resources Wales and other related organisations regarding improvement to public paths and public access to land and water in the county with the aim of promoting outdoor activities.

In accordance with national regulations, Gwynedd Council is currently in the process of re-appointing members to the forum, for those areas of Arfon and Dwyfor that are not within the Snowdonia National Park.

The Local Access Forum meets on a regular basis and it is important that members attend all meetings – it is expected that the forum with consist of between 12 and 20 members.

Councillor Dafydd Meurig, Gwynedd Council’s Environment Cabinet Member said:

“The Local Access Forum plays a very important role in working with the Council and our partners to improve access to the countryside throughout the county and we would urge anyone who is interested in becoming a member to submit their application by Friday, February 16.”

To discuss becoming a member of the forum or to request an application form, contact Wyn Williams, Gwynedd Council’s Countryside Manager by email: llwybrau@gwynedd.llyw.cymru - the closing date for applications is Friday, 16 February, 2018.
