A FOUNDER member of the Holyhead Jedi Church has claimed he was attacked in his garden by someone disguised as Darth Vader.
Barney Jones, also know as Jonba Hehol, minister of the Anglesey order and spokesman for the Jedi Council, told the Chronicle that the incident took place in his front garden in Maes Cybi, Holyhead, on Tuesday, at 2.50pm.

He said: "Myself and my cousin were doing some filming for a documentary on the Jedi Church, when we were attacked.

"Someone jumped over our front garden wall wearing a black bin bag cape and said he was Darth Vader, before hitting us with a crutch."

Barney revealed that the cameraman, who was filming at the time, caught the incident on tape.

He added: "We have submitted the video to the police and they recognised him immediately."

A spokeswoman for North Wales Police confirmed that the matter was being investigated.

She said: "Anyone who witnessed the incident should call PC2490 Davies at Holyhead police station, on 0845 607 1001 (Welsh) or 0845 607 1002 (English)."

Barney founded the the Anglesey Order of Jedi with his brother Daniel after being inspired by the 2001 UK census, in which more than 390,000 people listed their religion as Jedi, and their order now ministrates the UK Church of Jedi Knights, as well as orders as far afield as Florida and the Philippines.
