A CHILDREN'S basketball team in an Anglesey village have been given new training kits thanks to the help of a member of the local neighbourhood policing team.

Formed over a year ago, the Gaerwen basketball team have been given the kits after an application was made by police community support officer Eira Hughes to the Barclays spaces for sport fund.

PCSO Eira Hughes said: "The South Anglesey neighbourhood policing team is dedicated to working closely with local communities and partners - it's been a pleasure to see the local children making full use of the facilities available to them."

The Barclays fund work closely with communities across the country, offering resources for sporting equipment and regenerating disused areas.
