IF you have spent time stuck in traffic jams or curse as you drive down bumpy roads, here is some bad news.
Highways funding from the Government to Warrington Borough Council is expected to drop this year.
The already limited transport settlement will probably fall below £4m.
Warrington Borough Council hopes a positive 'progress report' will increase their share by up to 10 per cent.
But the overall funding trend has been down as the Government shifts money to the special Transport Integration Fund (TIF).
The council needs to bid for extra money for projects supported by TIF like congestion charging, while it manages with a smaller general grant that it can spend how it wants.
"At the moment we have been mindful that the Government is moving money into the Transport Integration Funding where they are looking for authorities to bring in proposals for road pricing," said Warrington Borough Council's head of transport, Phil Johnson.
"But we hope the Government will recognise the quality of our transport proposals and may give us additional funding."
