POLICE are appealing for information after two men tried to drag a woman into a car near a Caernarfon cemetary.
At 10:15pm, on Tuesday, May 6, a woman was walking alone past Llanbeblig Cemetary when she was stopped by two men who were in a dark coloured car, similar to a Mercedes saloon.
The passenger asked the woman for directions into the town. He then attempted to grab hold of the woman's arm.
Fortunately, she managed to escape and alerted police.
At the time of the incident a dark-coloured vehicle, possibly a Volvo estate, passed and the driver sounded the horn. The vehicle turned into the Gallt y Sil/Maes y Meddyg estate.
Officers are particularly interested in speaking to this driver who may have witnessed the incident.
The passenger inside the vehicle is described as being 40 to 45-years-old and had a dark complexion. He was of muscular build and had dark shoulder length wavy hair. He also had a large mole to the left side of his nose. He spoke English with a foreign accent.
The driver of the vehicle is also described as having a dark complexion and was between 35 to 40-years-old. He was of average build and had a nose which has been described as large.
The woman, who is in her 40's, was left shocked but unhurt by the incident.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen a suspicious dark vehicle being driven in the Caernarfon area, or who may have seen these men to contact officers at Caernarfon CID on 0845 6071001 (Welsh), 0845 6071002 (English) or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
