CITY boss Nev Powell is looking for his troops to shine at the Old Gold this Saturday and keep Bangor’s 100 per cent Welsh Premier League record intact.

Fresh from a superb two nil victory over title contenders and full timers Llanelli, the Blues now face another tricky challenge at Richmond Park against a Carmarthen Town side that was impressive against Port Talbot last weekend.

However Powell is looking forward to the challenge; he said: “The players’ feet are firmly on the ground and we know we have a tough game at Carmarthen this Saturday.

“The lads all know what their jobs are and what’s expected from them and we need to keep going the way we have since the first Honka match.”

He added: “At the end of the day we’re a club that is moving forward and we’re going to go out and play the football we know we can play.

“We’re not afraid of anyone but we know that Carmarthen are quite a capable side so we need to go there and perform as we have recently, and hopefully we will.”

One man sure to be marked for attention by the Old Gold rearguard is hitman Jamie Reed, who tore the Reds apart on Saturday as he scored and won two penalties.

Powell said: “It’s good to have Jamie Reed back at Bangor City - it was important that he came back and who knows what might have happened in Europe if he had been available?

“The players are all in it together, Alan Bull had a good game on Saturday as did Craig Garside, he played what was probably his best game for Bangor.

“It’s a pleasure to work with all the players as they are all so eager and are ready to show what they can do.”

Nicky Ward missed Saturday’s game and should be back this weekend after recovering from tonsillitis.
