RHYL will be given a dose of rock and roll when Dreamcoats and Petticoats comes to town.

Due to its phenomenal West End success, the smash hit musical inspired by the million+ selling albums of the same name has embarked on a UK wide tour.

Written by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, the team behind Goodnight Sweetheart, Birds of a Feather, The New Statesmen and Shine On Harvey Moon, this spectacular feel-good production will take audiences back to a time when each passing week brought another classic track.

Jonathan Bremner, who plays Norman in the show, explained: "It's a rock and roll show with lots of dancing. All the music is played live on stage by the band - it's a feel good show."

Returning to the production because of the experiences he had first time around ("I love the show and I love my part!"), Jonathan confirmed it is the party spirit which keeps the cast going.

"It's amazing," he beamed. "It only takes one person to stand up on their feet and the rest follow suit. Even if you're someone who hasn't seen the show you get into it. I don't think it's hard work, more great fun."

Most people may recognise Jonathan from his appearance on X-Factor, where made it through to the final seven in Sharon Osbourne’s group.

"X-Factor was a whirlwind at the time," he confessed. "There's such pressure [but] I have been lucky. It's a massive thing to walk away with.
"My biggest highlight was singing live. Whitney Houston, Meatloaf, Diana Ross - they were massive highlights.
"I didn't know which direction to go into. I never thought I'd do musical theatre but you get a lot more confidence when you've been standing infront of Simon Cowell."

  • Dreamcoats and Petticoats will be showing at the Pavilion Theatre in Rhyl between September 13-18. For more information or to book tickets contact the Box Office on 01745 330 000 or visit the website at www.rhylpavilion.co.uk
