A LIFEBOAT crew rescued three people, including a boy, 6, after their jet ski broke down off the coast of Anglesey.

Moelfre RNLI Inshore lifeboat were called to help two men and a boy at 3.10pm yesterday (Thursday, August 20) half a mile off Benllech.

Lifeboat team spokesman Dave Massey said that the group, of Manchester, became stranded when a rope towing an inflatable fowled the jet ski’s propeller.

“They began to shout and wave and luckily someone on the shore noticed their calls for help and contacted the Coastguard,” he said.

The group was brought on board the lifeboat and the jet ski was towed into Traeth Bychan.

They were unhurt.

Mr Massey added: “Despite being a straight forward rescue it was good to see that they were wearing wet suits and all were wearing buoyancy aids.”
