AN ANGLESEY lifeboat team had a busy weekend with four call outs in two days.

Moelfre RNLI lifeboat rushed to the aid of an Indian sailor who was violently ill on a tanker in stormy conditions off Point Lynas, near Amlwch at 4.20pmon Saturday.

Spokesman Dave Massey said: “The man had been vomiting violently and had abdominal pains for two days, and he was very lethargic and rapidly becoming dehydrated.”

The man,42, was given oxygen by RNLi first aiders and was taken to the Moelfre RNLI Lifeboat Station.

He was taken by ambulance to hospital.

The Lifeboat crew were called away from their annual Lifeboat day display at 2.15pm to help six people on a 16ft home made boat in difficulties in rough seas off Cemaes Bay.

However the crew, none of whom wore lifejackets, guided the boat to shore before the crew arrived.

The inshore lifeboat was called to action at 3pm on Friday when two windsurfers got into difficulties in strong winds off Red Wharf Bay.

The Moelfre lifeboat launched at 3.30pm on Friday to help a man and a woman in a inflatable kayak in rough seas off Lligwy beach.

Mr Massey added: “ Neither were wearing buoyancy aids and the only means of calling for help was from a mobile phone.”

The lifeboat took the kayakers back to the beach.
