TICKETS have been selling selling fast for next week's concert at St Aelahaiarn’s Church, Guilsfield, featuring popular band Whalebone and local favourite Beck Sian.

The concert, on Friday, August 20, starts at 7.30pm, and will also feature local violinist Sally Crosby.

Whalebone’s music is a marriage of folk music and classic guitar rock played on acoustic guitars and fiddle, combining upfront spellbinding musicianship, infectious driving rhythms and exuberant presentation.

The trio’s performances feature fiery and emotive original material, supercharged renditions of traditional music and wild re-workings of rock guitar classics played with dazzling virtuosity.

Beck Sian draws on inspiration from her native Australia to create what she describes as ‘haunted forest music’.

Sometimes reminiscent of Kate Bush, to whom she is related, Beck performs mystical, magical and enchanting songs with voice, guitar, whistle and didgeridoo.

“We’re excited to be coming back to Guilsfield and playing again at this beautiful and historic church” says Whalebone frontman Steve Downs. “We’re really looking forward to a great night here”.

Tickets are priced at £10 each (including refreshments) and are available from Canon Roger Bird on 01938 554245.
