FIRE crews fought through the night last night (Thurs) to extinguish a blaze at a disused factory site in Caernarfon.

North Wales Fire and Rescue service were alerted to the fire at the location of the disused Ferodo and Celtic Frictions factory on Bangor Road at around 10pm.

Five fire engines were dispatched from Caernarfon, Bangor, Menai Bridge and Llanberis, as well as the incident command unit from Rhyl.

Firefighters isolated the section of the unoccupied two-storey office block which was well alight when they arrived, using four sets of breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
