DEVELOPERS have unveiled plans to convert the old post office in Bangor in a multi business complex.
Deganwy-based Sam Farmanbar and Fari Niazmand have submitted an application to Gwynedd Council to change the use of the building on Deiniol Road to a club, medical practice and external food court.
Architect Tony Pumfrey said in a design and access statement: “The club is multi purpose and for the use of the citizens of Bangor people from the surrounding area.”
Facilities would include live piano, harp, violin and band music along with regular shows by comedians and singers.
The club would also have TV and family rooms.
The medical practice would have multi-consulting rooms for a dermatology clinic, opticians, chiropractors and general practitioners.
Mr Pumfrey added that the food court would international cuisine. Each food unit would be run by an established restaurant.
The grade two listed building opened in 1909 but has been empty since the post office closed in 2008.
It is not known how many jobs would be created at the proposed complex.
Deiniol Ward councillor Dewi Llywelyn said: “In general, I would welcome a development of this sort in a building which is empty a the minute and I would welcome new businesses into Bangor.”
