AN horrific injury to Joe Price overshadowed Cefn Druids' 3-0 friendly win over a young Wrexham side.
Price suffered a double break of his left leg after a clash in the first half at Plaskynaston.
Druids had taken the lead in the ninth minute when Hesp's long throw was flicked on to the far post and was volleyed first time into the bottom corner by trialist Tom Obasi.
Druids got a second goal in the 37th minute when Warren Duckett played in Price and his first time shot went across the keeper into the far corner of the net.
Druids scored their third goal when Max Peate rose at the back post to meet George Hughes' corner and turned it into the path of Obasi who converted his second of the match with a first-time strike.
But the result became a scant consolation as thoughts immediately turned back to Price.
Wrexham youth team coach, Andy Davies, said: “We were all horrified to see Joe injured and even more so when he is someone we know well from his time with us.
“It goes without saying that we all wish him a speedy recovery and look forward to seeing him back on the pitch as soon as possible.”
