TWO fire crews from Wrexham were called to deal with a blaze in an outhouse at a property in Queensway, Hope just after midnight today (Monday, July 26).

A spokeswoman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said it was believed the fire, which caused severe damage to the building and its contents, was deliberately started.

She added that fire investigators from the service were now looking into the incident.

Without knowing the facts and just speculating, I cant help thinking that the nearer and less busy Retained crews from Buckley and Mold who were first appliances into Hope for 30 plus years may have been able to get a control of this incident quicker. Fire cover reviews cost time and lives but save costs. A freedom of information request perhaps EL?
