A ROAD on Anglesey was closed over the weekend after a crash involving two HGVs caused a fuel spillage.

Junctions six and seven of A55 eastbound carriageway between Llangefni and Gaerwen was closed after the collision at around midday on Saturday.

A crane was used to recover one of the vehicles, which came to a stop in a field just off the A55.

Traffic was diverted along the A5. The road re-opened shortly after midnight after the fuel was cleared.

The Ambulance and Fire and Rescue Services were informed.

Both lorry drivers were taken to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor with what are believed to be minor injuries.
