A LLANDUDNO teenager is well on her way to the finals of the Miss Wales competition.
Crowned Miss Conwy late last year, 18 year old Chloe Scott, who is training to be a teacher, has successfully secured her necessary sponsors thanks to the help of local businesses and is now vying for the national title.
She said: “It’s really fantastic - there are a lot of people struggling to get their sponsorship in this financial climate but people have been very generous.”
Chloe has been hard at work in the gym preparing for the finals as well as starting to raise funds for the competition's chosen charity, The Joshua Foundation, which helps children with terminal cancer.
“Now I’m really focusing on fundraising for the Joshua Foundation. I want to put on some quiz nights with a raffle. I’m also hoping to put on a Charity Ball so am looking for a suitable venue to get in touch about allowing us to hold one.”
Chloe has only four months before she will be travelling from her home in West Shore down to St David’s Hall in Cardiff in June, where she will be joined by girls from across Wales for a busy weekend of rehearsals and competitions.
Chloe explained: “There are three rounds: the 'jeans and a t-shirt' round, the 'little black dress' round and the 'evening gown' round. Each one is choreographed - I find it quite fun. I love dancing and even though it's not as energetic - it's just walking to the correct place - it's the same kind of thing.
