A FORMER dinner lady has swapped her apron for a police uniform to help victims of crime in Gwynedd rebuild their lives.
Reassurance and Liason officer PCSO Annette Jones keeps residents in Bangor, Bethesda, Caernarfon up to date with investigations’ progress.
“Every day is different - I enjoy meeting people and I’m happy to be able to help make a difference,” she said.
PSCO Jones also works with other agencies such as the Fire and Rescue Service, offers free property marking sessid and visits the area’s schools and retirement homes.
The former dinner lady at Ysgol Bryn Elian in Colwyn Bay, who started her new position on October, provided vital reassurance and information to victims and crime prevention advice to other residents.
“The feedback we have received has been excellent and we believe that the public, and certainly her colleagues, are appreciative of her work,” he said.
PCSO Jones will be part of the multi-agency team who will visit Morrisons in Caernarfon on February 17, where various organisations and agencies will offer advice and guidance on issues such as crime prevention and community safety.
