TWO men were left clinging to rocks after their boat sank off the coast of Anglesey.
An RNLI lifeboat crew from Trearddur Bay rescued the men after engine failure caused their boat to crash against the rocks at Rhoscolyn Bay on Friday.
The skipper and his colleague scrambled from the 27 foot long vessel onto a small cluster of rocks in choppy seas and waited for help.
Alf Pritchard, Trearddur Bay RNLI Lifeboat Press Officer said: “The Atlantic 75 RNLI lifeboat was launched at 11.13am and found the pair on the rocks. They were unharmed but very pleased to see us. Both were safely taken aboard the lifeboat and returned to the shore. It would have been very difficult for them to get ashore any other way, as they would have had to re-enter the sea to reach the next rocks from which they would have had to climb to safety.”
The wrecked vessel sunk in approximately 25 foot of water.
