A PERSON has been taken to hospital after a single-vehicle crash in Gwynedd this morning (August 16).

Emergency services were called to a crash on the A470 Crimea Pass, near the Roman Bridge, at around 8.40am.

The road was closed in both directions, while North Wales Police, Welsh Ambulance Service, Wales Air Ambulance, North Wales Fire and Rescue Service and Local Authority Highways attended the scene.

The vehicle involved ended up in a nearby field, with one person transferred by road to Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Police have said the road has reopened, but will close again for the vehicle to be recovered.

A North Wales Police spokesperson said: "We were called at 8.42am reporting a single vehicle RTC on the A470 Crimea Pass near to the Roman Bridge.

"Officers attended alongside colleagues from WAST, Helimed, NWFRS and Local Authority Highways.

"The road was closed whilst the incident was ongoing and has since reopened, however it will be closed again at some point to recover the vehicle from a nearby field."

A Welsh Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 8.44am to reports of a one-vehicle road traffic collision on the A470 near Blaenau Ffestiniog.

“We sent three rapid response cars and an ambulance to the scene, where crews were also supported by two air ambulances. 

“One person was taken by road to Ysbyty Gwynedd.”
