PUPILS and staff at Ysgol Friars in Bangor can count 2016 as a vintage year.
This year has seen pupils at the school achieve its best-ever set of GCSE results.
Neil Foden, headteacher, said: “We have record numbers achieving 5 A*-C including English/Welsh and maths and have seen another significant increase on the previous year.
“The results are testimony to the hard work of the pupils and the quality teaching and support from our staff.”
Among the top performing pupils were Marjan Ahmad, from Bangor, who achieved 11 A*s and one A.
Sian Thorpe, from Deiniolen, secured 10 A*s and one C grade, Esme Lewis and Loren Molyneux, both from Bangor, gained 9 A*s and two As, and Juliette Lee, from Menai Bridge, achieved eight A*s, two As and one C.
