A WHOLE host of award-winning breeders brought their stock to the show.
Llyr Hughes, of Pabo Limousins, won first prize for the heifer and first calf and senior bulls, and second prize in the junior bull and commercial beef competitions.

Having also exhibited at Eglwysbach, Flint the Royal Welsh, Mr Hughes enjoyed being able to bring his stock to his home show.

He said: “It’s a special show. A lot of good things happen here. There is some great stock from all over who come here.

“As a local boy, it’s good to win here because I can sell stock here. It’s good to be able

“It’s an important date in the calendar. Last year was a good year and this year has been a good year as well.”

In a different section of the show, rabbit breeding brother-and-sister team Ryan and Gwenno Evans could not hide their delight at taking first prize in the junior Minnie Rex competition.

Father, Dylan, who helps the two six year-olds, said: “It’s been a good show again. The only thing I would say is that there isn’t as many young people coming through. It’s something of a dying hobby to be honest.

“A few years ago you’d have a hundred rabbits here, but now you only have 40 to 50.”
