Police hunt Menai Bridge meat thief

THE hunt is on for a thief who took meat from an Anglesey supermarket.

Police are appealing for information after man took packs of beef from the Waitrose store on Mona Road, Menai Bridge at 6.50pm on Wednesday, February 5.

A North Wales Police spokesman said: “He went to the meat aisle and took three packs of Waitrose brand top-side beef and then ran out of the store without making attempts to pay.

“Staff were unable to stop him before he left the store and ran out of the car park onto Mona Road.”

The man is described as nearly 6ft, between 45 and 50 years old with light brown, mousey hair that is greying and receding.

He has a bald patch on the crown of his head and long sideburns to the bottom of his ears.

The man also has a prominent chin which is unshaven with grey stubble.

He wore a black jacket with a green hooded top underneath; black trousers and black trainers with white logos on top of the heels.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have information relating to the man is asked to call PC 2577 Dafydd Pritchard at Llangefni Police Station on 101, quoting reference RC14017672.
