Eryri Marathon reaches limit in record time

REGISTRATION for the 2014 Snowdonia Marathon Eryri is closed after the race reached its full allocation in record time.

Regarded as one of the toughest marathons in Britain, the marathon’s 2,400 spots were taken up in just two weeks, smashing the previous uptake record of 40 days.

Event co-ordinator Jayne Lloyd, said: “We have
been overwhelmed by the demand for the event in

“This event means so much to the Llanberis and North Wales community
and we are so proud of what the Marathon has done for the area over the last 30 years – so runners can expect an unrivalled experience once again in 2014.”

Last year’s race was a phenomenal success and produced two local winners in
the form of three-time winner Rob Samuel and student Sarah Caskey – who
won the male and female events respectively.

This year’s marathon takes place on Saturday, October 25.
