A LLANGEFNI family have expressed their shock at the sudden death of their “much loved” teenage son.
Thomas Philip Jones, aged 19, was rushed to Ysbyty Gwynedd on Saturday, where he died. It is believed he could have taken took the drug called green apples.

Philip’s Auntie, Yvonne McCammick, paid tribute to their “loving” son.

She said: “We’ve all gone into a surreal auto-pilot.

“He was the baby of the family, a very quiet, tight-knit family. Philip was slightly more mischievous but in the nicest possible way. He was very loving, very funny and much, much loved.

“It’s humbled us how many young kids have come through the doors, sharing their stories, laughing a lot and crying.
"It’s a scene Philip himself would have loved to be a part of.

“We also just want to thank the friends, family and even strangers who have paid tribute to him. It’s uplifiting and inspiring.”

The police have issued a warning regarding the deadly drug, and the family have reiterated the messgae.

Mrs McCammick said: “The family would also like to emphasise the warning with these drugs.

“He did one stupid thing. He wasn’t a druggie or a junkie at all, but this one act cost him and the price he paid was too much.

“We as a family, just want to warn everyone that it just isn’t worth it.

Mr Jones was working at a local business after spending seven years at Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni.
Haydn Davies, headteacher at Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni, said: “Philip was a smashing lad in school, and was always smiling.
"He was extremely amiable and extremely popular with his friends and teaching staff at the school.
"His death is tragic for all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.”

Anglesey councillor Rhian Medi, a friend of the family, said: “It’s hard for the whole town, and especially on the family.

“His death was such a waste. How many other families have to go through this tragedy before something is done?”

An inquest into Mr Jones’ death has been opened and adjourned.
