HERITAGE train services by the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways were cancelled today (Saturday) after trees fell on the line.
Commercial manager Clare Britton Tweeted this picture of the scene on the Ffestiniog Railway line at Whistling Curve earlier today.
Whistling Curve is an 180 degree curve, half a mile below the Tan-y-Bwlch station and roughly at the halfway point on the Ffestiniog Railway route.
She said: "Alex Spring, our Infrastructure Manager, reports that there are at least NINE trees across the line at this location, with damage to FIVE spans of the railway's overhead pole route.
"With obstructions like this - and the continuing bad weather - we had no other option but to severely curtail our train services today."
