AWARD-winning duo Welsh harpist Catrin Finch and Senegalese kora player Seckou Keita are back on tour with a stop in Caernarfon.

The pair will be at the Galeri, at7.30pm, on Friday, November 23. It is part of their autumn tour giving audiences the live experience of their new album SOAR.

It was released in April to huge critical acclaim. Drawing deep on their own diverse traditions and transforming them with remarkable synergy, Catrin and Seckou have built a formidable reputation for extraordinary performances.

Following the huge success of their debut release, their long-awaited second album ‘SOAR’ takes flight on the wings of the osprey, the magnificent bird of prey recently returned to Wales after centuries of absence.

The bird makes its annual 3,000-mile migration from the coasts of West Africa to the estuaries of Wales. The evening entertainment comes with support from Gwyneth Glyn, poet, writer and singer who comes from Cricieth.

She will be performing material from her new album ‘Tro’ with her band Dylan Fowler, Rowan Rheingans and Gill Stevens.

Catrin and Seckou have also been selected to showcase at the English Folk Expo, the industry event which runs alongside the Manchester Folk Festival, which this year features Wales as their partner nation

Catrin, who has just been given the all-clear following treatment for breast cancer diagnosed earlier this year, says “I can’t wait to be back out on the road touring and performing with Seckou."
