BREATH taking acrobatics, gravity defying feats and anatomically twisted contortions are just some of the thrills and spills in store during a new circus show coming to Pontio, in Bangor.

A highly acclaimed and award-winning Spanish based circus troupe Compañía de Circo “eia”embarks on its debut tour of the UK with its critically lauded show InTarsi.

The show combines wit, humour and slick choreography to create a mesmerising, spectacle.

Four guys hang out, tease and play with each other on an ingenious set that constantly morphs into new landscapes. Sometimes they work together and sometimes against one another, but in the end, they are connected by a strong bond that is their common humanity.

Behind the fun, InTarsi asks deeper questions about how people relate to each other, how we can be lonely in a crowd or feel completely connected when we are all alone.

The performers bond with audiences old and young alike by creating light-hearted reflections in which we can all recognise ourselves and see each other.

Compañía de Circo “eia” was born in 2009, when several established circus artists decided to come together including Armando Rabanera, Fabrizio Giannini and Cristiano Della Monica (Cirque Vague, Circo de la Sombra and Le Grand Osim Orchestra) and Francesca Lissia and Celso Pereira (Celso y Frana).

Since the beginning, the company has been promoting a human circus capable of evoking the complexity of human relationships, and reaching a wide audience.

Compañía de Circo “eia”’s awards include ‘The Barcelona City Prize in 2011, “for the risk undertaken in circus research and innovation” for their production Capas, the Special Prize of the Jury at the 7th Edition of Zirkolika Awards 2016 for InTarsi and the MAX Award for Outstanding New Show 2017 for InTarsi. Presented by Pitchbed, InTarsi by Compañía de Circo “eia” is at Pontio, at 7.30pm, on October 10. For details: 01248 382828 pontio.co.uk
