An Anglesey man must be tried at the crown court on a charge of possessing a combat knife in a public place.
Stephen Johnson, 46, of The Terrace, Ty Croes, was arrested by British Transport Police after alighting from a Llandudno Junction train on Thursday and the knife was allegedly found in his bag.
He pleaded not guilty to possessing a bladed article at Llandudno Junction station.
A plea for bail was turned down by magistrates at a weekend court at Llandudno, who ruled that the case should go to the crown court.
He will appear at Caernarfon crown court on October 15.
