A MONTH-LONG list of activities set up by North Wales Police for the young people of Anglesey came to an end last week.

Financially supported by the High Sheriff’s Crimebeat Fund, the summer project was set up by the Safer Neighbourhood Team to give the children of the area something to do over the summer.

A variety of activities were offered to all the young people in the area to help them develop new interests.

Many of the activities also helped them build practical skills they could add to their CVs in the future, such as CPR and defibrillator training, safety and awareness sessions and sports days.

The final event of the month was an intergenerational bingo session held at the ex-serviceman’s hall in Benllech last week, held in conjunction with the over 50’s club.

PCSO Carwyn Gilford said: "We would like to say a big thank you to the young people who have taken part this summer, the High Sheriff’s Crimebeat Fund and to the Benllech Spar store who kindly donated bingo prizes for the day along with plenty of tea, coffee, cakes and biscuits.

"The Spar staff members delivered the food and prizes to the hall and stayed to play bingo with the youths and the over 50’s club as well."

The several young people from the area who were involved in the project were also given a day out to Glasfryn Parc, to go kayaking, bowling and go-karting.
