IT'S been an anxious time for teenagers on Anglesey waiting to get their GCSE results.

But the island's schools have seen some good results, despite the rest of Wales recording lower pass rates in a decade.

People have taken to social media to offer their best wishes including a Twitter message one from Anglesey County Council this morning which said: "Good luck to everyone receiving their GCSE results today!"

Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern:

Pupils have done "exceptionally well" in their GCSE exams at Ysgol Uwchradd Bodedern this year.
But the headteacher says the school "takes pride and celebrates all our pupils’ achievements in these GCSE exams."

Mrs Catrin Jones Hughes, head of the school, says she wishes to "congratulate ALL pupils on their results and thanks the staff for their continued commitment and hard work and to the parents for their continued support. 
“I wish every pupil all the best in the next stage of their career,” she added.

Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni is celebrating record GCSE results and exceptional A*/A achievement today!

Headteacher Clive Thomas said: "We would like to congratulate each and every one of our Year 11 pupils on their achievements which have secured the best GCSE results Ysgol Gyfun Llangefni has ever seen.

Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi:

Head teacher Adam Rhys Williams is "delighted" at the GCSE success of pupils at Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi.

He said "At Ysgol Uwchradd Caergybi we have been extremely happy with our overall performance this year. 

We have seen an increase in our English results as well as Maths. Our Level 2 inclusive results (five GCSEs including English, maths and Welsh first language) have also improved on last year.

"I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate individual performances such as Bethany Tildselay 6A* 4A and 1B as well as Rachel Evans 4A* 4A and 3B, Rachel Smith 1A* 5A and 5B, Joe Yates 6A 5B, Sam Jenkins 4A* 1A and 4B. 

"A big thank you to all the teachers' hard work and support during the year in preparing the pupils well for the examinations.

"We are very happy that our results are up, I'm very pleased with how our pupils did this year. We have seen an improvement on last year's performances. They have done well. I'm delighted.

"Although it is not confirmed officially, we have heard across Wales there may have been a drop in English, but we have seen a rise in our results.

"The pupils have worked hard. It can be a nervous time, quite at emotional time, and we have seen a lot more parents coming in offering their support."

Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones:

The headteacher of Ysgol Syr Thomas Jones is "very proud" of his students.

Headteacher Aaron Bayley said: “We are very proud of the achievements of all of our students once again this year.
"After a lot of hard work and teamwork the students are now reaping the rewards.
