TWO crews from Caernarfon tackled a fire inside machinery at a paper factory in Penygroes yesterday.
The firefighters were called out at 10.34am and spent an hour dealing with the incident.
A North Wales Fire and Rescue spokesman said a quantity of paper was destroyed and there was 20 per cent fire damage to the machinery.
Then at 12.50pm yesterday a crew from Caernarfon was called to public toilets in the multi-storey car park at Canolfan Penllyn in the town where a quantity of toilet paper had been set on fire.
Firefighters used a bucket of water to put out the blaze and also undertook smoke clearance work.
Meanwhile, a crew from Holyhead was called out to extinguish a quantity of food waste which had caught light behind a chip shop on Greenfield Terrace in the town just before 2am today.
