EMERGENCY SERVICES had to be called to an Anglesey pub after a car smashed into it in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Guests staying at the historic Black Lion Inn pub in Llanfaethlu were woken by a loud bang at around 3am.
When they went downstairs they found a huge hole in the wall where a blue Hyundai car had crashed into the building.
An ambulance took the male driver to Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor and his injuries are not thought to be serious.
The pub, currently owned by Leigh and Mari Faulkner, dates back to the 18th century.
The pair say the business will be closed for "at least the next few weeks" as they look to repair the damage.
They also wished the driver a speedy recovery.
