TWO BURGLARS have been caught on CCTV raiding an Anglesey restaurant and making off with close to £3,000.

The pair were wearing light coloured tracksuits and used scarves to cover their faces when they broke into the Simply Street Bar and Grill in Holyhead on Sunday, June 17.

The till was opened within seconds of the raid and one of the thieves was recorded shoving money into his jacket.

The CCTV footage captured was posted onto Facebook by owner Mark Roberts and, within the first few hours of it being uploaded, it had been seen by more than 6,000 people.

The pair are believed to have climbed into the building, which only opened last summer, through a skylight window on the roof.

On Wednesday, June 27, the restaurant's Facebook page posted another update, this time claiming that they had some idea as to who the culprits may be.

"We have been given the same two names several times, which does fit into the crime," the status read.

"I would say it's 99% right. Thanks Holyhead for your help you are the best."

North Wales Police say they were informed of the burglary at Simply Street Bar and Grill, shortly after 9am on Monday, June 18 and enquiries are currently ongoing.
