Blue skies and sunshine can be seen in Llandudno as it prepares to lead the nation in saying thank you to our Servicemen and women as it hosts the national Armed Forces Day celebrations today.
The day begins at 11am with an impressive military parade of marching bands, Service personnel, cadets and veterans from the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.
The parade will begin at the Llandudno War Memorial and will travel down the sea front (on the road) to Bodafon Fields.
The day will also include dazzling displays in the sky from the Red Arrows, Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and Typhoons.
On the promenade and in Bodafon Fields there will be exciting exhibits, including helicopters, tanks, simulators, armoured vehicles, diving tanks, and dynamic displays from the RAF Falcons, Royal Marines and Cadet Forces. HMS Somerset, a Royal Navy Type 23 frigate, will be anchored in Llandudno Bay between the Great Orme and the Little Orme and will mark the start of the parade with a gun salute at sea.
The event will be attended by Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal, the Leader of Conwy County Borough Council and civic representatives, and hundreds of service personnel – both Regular and Reserve – from the Royal Navy, Army and Royal Air Force.
