A FORMER shop security guard and RAF worker was jailed for 28 months after distributing child porn from the “dark web” to a sex offender.

Richard Eckl, aged 70, formerly of Bryn y Mor, Holyhead, who the prosecution said also worked in a charity shop, must register as a sex offender for ten years and a sexual harm prevention order was made.

Caernarfon crown court heard Eckl had more than 550 images. Judge Timothy Petts told him :”We are talking about images of child abuse, children between five and twelve predominantly, boys being abused, some of them in the most vile ways imaginable.”

He added: "You were distributing to a known sex offender, fuelling his perverted desires as well.”

Ffion Tomos, defending, said Eckl served in the RAF for 22 years.

The loss of his wife through illness in 2013 seemed to be the trigger for the offences.

Eckl admitted distributing and possessing indecent images.

The sex offender was fellow child porn viewer Nicholas Walker, aged 49, of Aberffraw.
